Hi,

I'm building a retro DOS machine based on a Asus PVI 486SP3. Ideally I'd like a VLB card, but until one comes along at the right price I'll make do with something else.

I bought a S3 Trio64V+ from eBay and the buyer kindly send a free S3 Virge/DX with it. The DX has 4 spare SOJ40 sockets that I can populate. I'm wondering which card I should use.

I'd probably be inclined to stick with the S3 Trio64V+, it's a STB Systems card, but it has a DELL PG64V BIOS chip on it, will this show some sort of DELL logo or text?

Thanks for the help!

Îf you like to run Windows 3.1/3.11 you should consider that the S3 Virge does not have driver support but the Trio64V+ has.

Do they use hardware acceleration or do they support the Virge as framebuffer card?

Sorry I was wrong. I still had the Virge VLB in my brain.
