I just got my first CS-10 after wanting one as a kid in the 90s. (I always saw the Packard Bell version at my local store)

Anyway, it has 2 sets of RCA stereo inputs on the back.

One of the inputs works normally, with the volume and tone knobs working as you'd expect.

The 2nd input just plays max volume no matter what the volume or tone knobs do.

Is this normal behavior for this thing? Or do I need to hunt for bad opamps or something?

User manual of Roland CS-10 Stereo Micro Monitor suggests the RCA pairs on back are an input and an output pair.

That's not the right manual. There is another CS-10.

Mine has both sets of RCAs clearly marked as "INPUT"

How confusing, there are headphones with same model number, and then two of these things too... It is the only manual I found. I was looking for a schematic in the first place but didn't see any, as they say, schematic tells more than a thousand words 🤣

Yeah I looked too and kept finding the other stuff. Guess I'll crack it open and see if the two signal paths are different.
