Hi folks,

I have the above mentioned Aztech sound card (HP branded 'wedge' ISA card) in my 486 and it works great in DOS either using SB Pro 2.0 drivers or Unisound. I also have it working in Windows 3.11 as a SB Pro 2.0.

However this card can do 16 bit sound at 48kHz in theory (I think), and I would like to unlock the raw power!

What drivers ought I to try to Windows 3.11? I didn't have any luck with the Aztech ISA drivers ZIP file, but I may have been choosing the wrong ones. I also didn't have any luck with the MS Windows Sound System 2.0 install, which trashed my Windows 3.11 setup.

Any advice? To be honest the 8 bit stereo sound is pretty good, so this is a luxury problem to have 😀

Still haven't gotten Aztech drivers working for Win 3.11 (every one I have tried reboots the PC on starting Windows.)

However, for MSDOS:

UNISOUND /XWSS

Turns on WSS mode and you can:

SET ULTRA16=530,1,5,0,0

And run MPXPLAY and it detects WSS (and it seems to work, although my machine is too slow to play the MP3 I tried to test with.)
