I'm building a 486 CPU collection. It will be housed in CNC cut pockets into an acrylic plate. It would be nice to have some CPUs in a socket. But where to get them?
I searched PGA237 on eBay, DigiKey, and Mouser, but didn't find any. I did find unsoldered socket 5 for sale. https://www.ebay.com/itm/166873258059
Is getting them from old motherboards the only way? If so, is there a cheap source? At $60, I'm only willing to buy 1. I could also desolder the VLB + ISA bus connector and the SIMM sockets and make them part of the exhibit.
