So, months ago i've bought a dell optiplex pc and it runned fine and formated the hdd because it did not recognize my cd drive. After a clean install of windows 98, i came with a problem within the integrated gpu which caused black screen in dos games and a buggy screen when i restart/restart in dos mode the pc.

However, after googling a little i found a "update" to the bios driver (3180) and when i executed it in dos mode and then going to windows, it works normally, but the problem is everytime i restart the pc, it goes back to the previous version of it (2972)

I tried to put the .exe into autoexec.bat but even when it says the correct bios version, the same issue happens.

so, is there any way to fix this, its kinda wacky to do the process of executing the bioa update everytime :\

My Pc Specs

  • Pentium 4 (865G chipset)
    80Gb ide hdd
    512mb ram
    Windows 98 se

i put this link to show the problem, since i think i wouldn't explain it well using images

any help would be appreciated (and sorry for bad english btw)
