Hi all!!

I'd like to buy a laptop that comes in a lot of 3, IBM R50e and R51 the other 2.
They come as "spares only", even if they have some functionality left, but have been harvested for some pieces.

Are these compatible with the T22 for pieces? Specifically, the screen can be swapped? On the T22 it is cracked but works.
T22 is XGA, and so - I guess - are the other 2.

I hope anyone knows the answer, I tried but it's just too technical for me.

Thanks a lot in advance.

T22 and R50/51 are very different generations of machines and different series, too. I doubt the parts from them are interchangeable.

Not so distant after all. Maybe it has been done before or attempted.
Maybe they are the same LCD line. IDK.

Thinkwiki has a fairly comprehensive list of the components used in the various models:

https://www.thinkwiki.org/wiki/TFT_display

Looks like some models of the T40/41/42 and R50/51 have the possibility of sharing the same panel.

Don't take the list as gospel, however; I found that my 240 had a different panel to the one listed.

This is helpful. Thanks!!!
Only thing is to check when they come in, but it could be possible. I'm not counting on it, connectors might be different.

T22 is always 14.1". Most R50e/R51 are 15" but there are 14.1" models too. That's before any consideration of connectors.

Obviously, but seller told me they are 14". Let's hope for the better as they basically come for free.
This is really hope, but let's not tear down the fun 😀
