Hi,

Recently I got an Excellent power model IT ATX300 (lc clone doohickey) PSU. Opened it up and saw a lot of bulging caps (mostly 2200uF 10v). Now, since this one looks to have an worse build quality than the 400w variant, I am unsure whenever it is actually worth the recapping.

Anybody here that could tell me whenever it is actually worth the repair attempts?

Do you need practice soldering?
Is that, and the price of caps worth more to you than the cost of a new one?

Value is subjective. If it was an AT psu, you could argue that it has some rarity value. You say it's atx. Ie, the current standard, of which there are billions of examples. This one is unremarkable in any way possible.

But, yknow, if you feel like spending 20-50 on caps and an hour soldering for practice, then go for it.

But be careful. You're dealing with mains.
