Have had this motherboard kicking around for years now, had no idea if it worked or not. The tab on the side of the socket to lock the arm is broken, but that doesn't seem to be a big deal.

I ordered a Pentium 233 MMX from the Ukraine for $20 (so I'm not out much if that's the culprit) to try with this board and it wouldn't post. Fans turn on, stuff gets warm (CPU and video card) but nothing on the screen.

I took it all apart, washed the board, got everything nice and clean and put it back together. No improvement. Now, I DID screw up and left the CPU voltage at 3.2V initially, but that shouldn't have cooked the CPU.

The old relic I picked up yesterday has a Pentium 75 in it, so I pulled that, slapped it in this board, and away it went, no problem. SO, I know with a known-good 3.3V non-dual voltage CPU, the board works.

So, I've ordered another Socket 7 board:

to test the CPU in.

Any other ideas while I wait on the new board? Only other board I have is the Socket 5 one in that old beast I picked up yesterday, which is a BIOSTAR MB-8500UUR-A V2.

Just an update to this:

I hooked up a floppy, flashed the E03 BIOS, installed the S3 VIRGE graphics card I tested in the other board (my two Cirrus cards don't work, may be contact cleanliness related, I've cleaned both of them, are drying now) and then hooked up a Quantum Fireball 15GB drive and ASUS ODD and proceeded to install Windows 2000 Pro using the Pentium 75 CPU. Not a hiccup, board works beautifully, so this raises my concern level about the health of the 233MMX 🙁

Need to find a case for this board now.

OK, so the CPU is fine (the MMX), the new board arrived and it posted no problem. Soooo, I'm thinking there must be something wrong with the Jetway? But it works fine with the Pentium 75. I may just swap out the Biostar board that needs the RTC fixed with the Jetway, since it works with that CPU.

Now, need to find an AT case for the 233.
