Hi there.

New member and first time poster.

I recently got my hands on a Canon NoteJet bn120c, but it's in kinda rough state. The lid I wonky and broken in places. The battery is about to explode, so has been promptly removed. And all in all it seems a bit fragile.

So what would you guys do with it? Take it apart and find something fun to do with the individual parts? Try to get it fixed? Sell it?

As far as I can see it should have a i486 dx4 100mhz, which seems quite nice. But it would require a 3.3v motherboard, if I'm not mistaken.

I'm not very tech savvy and very new in this retro pc world. As a kid I just played and never learned much about the technical stuff. So I'm asking for help and tips here.

I hope you have some good advice and bear with my lack of tech knowledge. 😀

Sound a bit far gone, especially if you lack tech knowledge.
If it had sentimental value then may be worth the extra work but if you're needing to replace a motherboard on a laptop then I'd consider it dead.
PC's are more salvageable but lack of standard parts in a laptop your pretty limited right from the start.

You can do anything except throw it away.

Although the printer part is probably dead (and I doubt that you could find cartridges by now) and the screen may be rotten, it is a very unique laptop. It should be preserverd.

I'm selling some stuff!
