I have a Radeon X850 and I use Everest Utimate edition software to keep track of GPU core and ambient temps. I also triple boot Win98, Win2K and WinXP. I've noticed that both GPU core and ambient temperatures in Win98 are higher (65 deg C core, 55 deg C ambient) than in Win2K (49 deg C core, 48 deg C ambient).
Any idea why this is the case? Reason for asking is that may that can give a hint on possible fixes to reduce GPU temps in Win98 as well.
