BIOS is version 1011. According to Asus site it should support drives over 32Gb.

P2B-VM BIOS 1011
Version 1011
186.06 KB
1999/11/04
Support IDE hard disk larger than 32G bytes.
Fix Microsoft Pre-OS test failure.
Microcode update upgrade for PII 653, 672, and 673. 653: 00A->010; 672: 00B->00C; 673: 007->00A.
Fix boot failure with some boot managers installed.
Fix Russian Y2K test program failed.

I bought new Samsung SV1204H 120Gb drive but I'm having some trouble with it. Drive is on Primary IDE with jumper set correctly. CD drive is in secondary IDE.
For some reason BIOS freezes on auto HDD detection menu. If I add two jumpers into the HDD to limit the drive to 32Gb, then it work fine. Has anyone used over 32Gb drives with P2B-VM?

If it were me I would update to the 1014 beta BIOS - it's a couple of years newer and though it isn't mentioned, it's quite likely that the hard drive size limit was increased. https://www.asus.com/supportonly/p2b-vm/helpdesk_bios/

After watching many YouTube videos about older computer hardware, YouTube began recommending videos about trains - are they trying to tell me something?
