Hi
I added an extra 512k cache chip to my ECS P5S-ML motherboard.
Yes - it does look awkward that they have to be placed oposite, but look at the white box around it - the "cut", that shows pin 1 is turned around on U4 compared to U5.
Now - of course I can't get this to work - Bios still says 512kb. I have verifed that there are no short circuits and resoldered several times to make sure that all pins are soldered to the lines.
I have identified some possible reasons:
1. I am too bad at soldering
2. The chip is fake
3. Something is missing on the motherboard
Does any of you guys out there have one of the boards PCChips M599LMR / ECS P5S-ML or the Amptron or Matsonic branded ones with 1024 kb cache on it? If you do - would you send me a picture of the area with the cache chips - especially I'd like to know if something must be changed in the area, I marked with a red box in the picture.
Thank you very much
