VOGONS

I recently acquired a used Quantum3D Obsidian2 X-24. Upon testing, I found that there is horizontal striping when used in SLI mode. Disabling SLI results in a perfect image, so the fault is on the daughterboard.

I’ve repaired some Voodoo2 cards (and Voodoo5), so I’m not a complete n00b. A single malfunctioning Voodoo2 is a bit easier to see what’s happening, since the badness will fill the whole screen, not just every other scan line.

It does not look to have the texture circles that bad memory usually produces. The colors seem off, with some pure red and green bits coming through as artifacts.

I’m wondering if there’s an issue with the blue output of the daughter board. But, any insight would be appreciated, as I’ve never quite seen this type of artifacting. And if anyone has the pinouts for the connection of the daughterboard to the main board, that would be really helpful.

Could be an an issue with SLI setup. I recall you need to set a bunch of special parameters in the driver for Obsidian X-24 to work or use Quantum3D driver.

I must be some kind of standard: the anonymous gangbanger of the 21st century.
