I got this imported Japanese Toshiba Libretto 70 and it has whitened screen area on the sides. It might be possible that the front polarizing film might be damaged but I doubt it because the polarizing film issues look different so it might be something else. The text is very hardly readable and "massaging" the screen can barely make it make out what it says. Is this even repairable? I didn't find any info about it. Please tell me what you think about it

It's terminal - I have the same fault on one of my Libretto screens which originally came on my Libretto 70CT:

The attachment 70ct original bad LCD.jpg is no longer available

It's a very common fault with the Libretto 50CT and 70CT models.

Initially I thought perhaps it was like the Citizen monochrome TFT's 'tunnel vision' problem which you can improve by baking the LCD in an oven for a while. That did actually help with my Compaq LTE Lite 4/25E laptop which had really severe tunnel vision, but the nature of the fault on these Sharp LQ61D133 panels is somewhat different - baking it made no difference. Which makes sense because the white corner problem looks and behaves differently than the tunnel vision issue. Tunnel vision gets progressively worse the longer the LCD is on but this white corner problem doesn't seem to change when the laptop is on for a while.

It doesn't look like a polarisation problem (LCD vinegar syndrome) to me but maybe??? Maybe it could be and perhaps I'll try peeling off the polariser on the bad panel to see if using a fresh polariser helps.

I resolved the issue by replacing with a replacement LQ61D133 and I recommend that you do the same.
