I often play Snooker or Pool on my PC/laptop (my current favourite is still the ancient but great Virtual Pool 4), and over the years I've played many Pool and Snooker games, and I was thinking of some, and I remembered one that stuck in my mind because when playing pool the balls, instead of being seven red balls and seven yellow balls, instead had seven light blue, and seven purple balls. I remember that I liked the colour scheme, but I can't remember the game. I can't even remember if it was a pure pool game, or if it also has a snooker mode too.

It was definitely a PC game, maybe DOS but much more likely Windows. It would have been a few years ago when I played it, but it might well have been much older than that. Despite the balls being light blue and Purple, it was definitely NOT an EGA/CGA/whatever ancient PC game, it had more colours and a higher screen resolution than that. I wouldn't even have tried a DOS EGA game by then.

I can't think of anything else, sorry. I can't even remember if it was a 3D game, or a 2D top down game, though it was probably 3D, as I wouldn't have bothered to test a game that I knew was 2D only.

Thanks for any answers.

Here are some titles to look into:

Codemasters/Blade Interactive - World Championship Snooker 2003
Interplay/Celeris - Virtual Snooker
Interplay/Celeris - Virtual Pool 1, 2 and 3
Celeris - 3D Pool
Sierra/3D Ultra - 3D Ultra Cool Pool
Psygnosis/Visual Sciences Ltd. - Expert Pool
Team17 Software Limited - Arcade Pool
Jaleco Entertainment/Blade Interactive - World Championship Pool 2004
Ninano Software - 1994Pool

Also, WizardWorks published Championship Pool which included snooker as one of its five games.

akula65, that's a great list, thanks. I've had a quick look via google, but none of them initially seem to be the one that I am looking for, but when I get home I will look into them further.

If I remember anything further about the mystery game, I will of course post it here.
