Hi, I have bought a Mad Catz 4 second hand and it works fine and I really like he way the mouse works in my hands because it has this unusual shape. But the software is horrible. I managed to get the x86 version of driver and software for it, which was a huge pain, and I installed it on Windows XP. Now the mouse is fully detected and the software starts.
BUT
The software is super weird and and complicated to understand.
This is what it looks like: https://www.legitreviews.com/mad-catz-rat-te- … review_139257/3
The first weird thing is that there seems to be no way to change mouse button 4 to mouse button 5 for example. I would love to move one of these buttons to the thumb button which is not used in Windows XP because it is not supported and I just want it to be Mouse 4 for older games like Doom 3.
The other weird thing is that the the things you can select, all are Macros of some sort, like close window or press F1. If I move them on one of the keys and press apply, it does not work. I have no clue why not even this works.
Does anyone do this in the past and know how to use this strange software? It looks like they made a driver AND a software for each mouse they release because when you search for a different RAT mouse, the configuration tool looks different.
PS: Another question is if you know if this mouse can save a profile in the mouse so I can move the mouse to a different computer without the software and keep the button configs.
Thanks in advance. A frustrated but happy Mad Catz user. Knowing this, I would not pay full price for these products. And I thought the GHUB from Logitech is a bad software...
