Hi folks,

Scored myself a Nitro V 15 (ANV15-41) at enough of a discount to make my inner cheapskate accept grudgingly. It's got, per title, a Ryzen 5 7535HS, 6 cores at 3.3/4.55 boost, which goes about "yea" fast.. https://www.cpubenchmark.net/cpu.php?id=5403& … +Ryzen+5+7535HS

Then for graphics the RTX3050 which I guess will be mostly irrelevant in full machine emu, but will run wrappers on w11 I figure.

So, haven't really messed with anything other than DOSbox or UAE before, wondering what the possibilities are with this new machine, whether it does fastish win98 box under PCEMU or something. Also largely ignorant of possibilities of using virtual machines, whether I could get later things like XP, vista, win7 installs running on them.

Slightly concerned about thrashing/trashing my boot SSD though under full machine emulation and wonder what I can do to avoid that. (External drive boot??)

So seeking advice about what the best things to try are, and what performance range I can get out of what, thanks.

Unicorn herding operations are proceeding, but all the totes of hens teeth and barrels of rocking horse poop give them plenty of hiding spots.

PCem up a K6-3 500 and see how much percents you get!

For OG Xbox there's Xemu, that's been making strides lately. One game that emulates particularly slow on it is Blinx.

UniPCemu is also CPU heavy, due to accurate bus emulation and slow RAM mapped accesses? The current commits more than the last released version (although requiring compiling it yourself).
