Hi.

In WinXP I use nircmd.exe and this Regedit settings:

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Drive\shell\Nircmd]
@="Insert"

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Drive\shell\NirCmd\command]
@="nircmd cdrom close %1:"

I want to get the same on Windows 95. I downloaded the old version of nircmd.exe 1.70, copy to WINDOWS folder and in MS-DOS mode to close CD-ROM tray as I follow the command:

nircmd cdrom close e:

I make this entry in regedit:

The attachment regedit.png is no longer available

but after right-click on the CD-ROM icon, the My Computer window in the context menu is new entry "Wsuń" but does not work:

The attachment wsun.png is no longer available
The attachment error.png is no longer available

First, you have "nircmd cdrom close %1:"
Next, you have "nircmd cdrom close %1"

The colon seems to make a difference...
