I recently picked up a 425CDT laptop that was in excellent physical condition including even the original stickers. It included all of the manuals, disks, accessories in a nice bag as well.

It included the base 8MB and supposedly can be upgraded to a maximum of 32MB using a proprietary RAM module. I found a 16MB kingston module for dirt cheap which has the empty footprints for the rest of the 32MB of RAM. I just need to find another source of the identical RAM chips and I think I can max it out. I just wonder if anyone else has done that with their own Satellites before.

I took a small gamble as the module was for a 720 and I kept reading that the different series were not compatible, but with it installed in my 425CDT, I now have 24MB of RAM. I figured it was cheap enough to at least try and it worked out. There were some 32MB modules but they were all too pricey to gamble on whether they would be compatible.

Correction: Maximum of 40MB with a 32MB module
