Hi,
I bought this monitor a few weeks ago (listed as "new", came in its original box). Unfortunately, the seller didn't include any documentation or cables.
The monitor has 2 types of inputs: a 15 pin DSUB (2 rows, 8 pins and 7 pins) and 5 BNC connectors.
Since this DSUB cable seems to be impossible to find, I went for a BNC to VGA cable from Aliexpress.
I mostly get a no-signal state after turning on the PC (Pentium 3, Voodoo 3). However, I did manage to get a signal a few times, after loosening the connection at the VGA card. At that point, the image had a purple tint to it; very bad contrast. But the color channels seemed to be correct. And the little display showed values for HSync and VSync. Also, which is very cool, it turned off its green backlight after a minute or so (thought I might have to put some blackout tape over it instead 😀).
A few notes:
- For about a minute after turning on the power switch on the monitor, there is a high-pitched sound. Then, it goes away.
- In the no-signal state, I can hear a bit of a ticking noise from the monitor. Don't know if that also happens when there is signal; can't remember.
- It's connected to a UPS. Either through a backed-up port or a pass-thru port, can't remember. That should be OK? The UPS doesn't beep to indicate an overload or anything.
Tried the following:
- Sprayed both ends of the BNC>VGA cable with K2 contact spray.
- Swapped the grey and black BNC wires at the monitor.
Any suggestions?
Did I get the wrong/a bad BNC cable; are there different BNC connectors?
Can I buy this type of 2-row DSUB cable anywhere in the EU?
Thank you.
