I wasn't sure where to look for a possible solution to this and I did a search for Editart and didn't find anything, so here goes.

I'm running DosBox 0.61 on a Centrino 1.3Ghz, 512Mb RAM, WinXP.

I just installed and got DosBox running, and ran both Shadow Warrior's and Duke Nukem 3D's Editart program. It works perfectly, except I cannot use F12 to screenshot a particular piece of art...basically I'm exporting from DN3D's art files and importing them into Shadow Warrior. Whenever I hit F12, in Editart, nothing happens. It should be writing a PCX of the current tile on the screen, but absolutely nothing happens. No drive activity (that I can see), nothing. I can run the original Editart (DOS only of course) in WinXP, and while I cant really see what is going on due to an undescribable video problem, I can hit F12 and get a PCX screenshot exactly as should happen.
If I had to guess, it is as if something is Write-Only in DosBox or my DosBox folder, but I checked both and un-checked Read-Only (in WinXP Explorer) and tried again, and still got nothing.

Any hints, ideas, clues, etc?

Thanks in advance.

f12 is isn't implemented in the 0.63 release.
you could try a cvs build from the development forum or use ctrl-f5 to let dosbox take screenshots for you.

CTRL-F5 under DOSBox seems the easier route.

Also, if you are still using version 0.61 you should upgrade to 0.63

It's not so much screenshotting what's on the screen, its a program-based grab of the pictures pixels...I'll try Ctrl-F5 but I don't quite think that's what I'm looking for. Thank you for the suggestion though 😀 I do have a workaround using both DosBox and Editart under XP, putting up with the graphic bug from running Editart in XP.

Let me rephrase my reply - F12 in Editart is like Exporting the current picture to a 320x200 .PCX file...so basically I need F12. I'll check the other builds in the dev forum for one that might support F12. Other then that, the program works excellent; one less reason for me to keep Win98 on my miniITX VIA! 😀
