I used DOSBox Staging to install Star Trek: 25th Anniversary on a new-ish laptop. During the installation process, there was an Access denied - 'NUL' error that was visible on the top of the screen the whole time. Despite this, the installation completed successfully and the game runs without apparent issues.

However, I'm a little curious:

1. What exactly causes this error, and can it be resolved?
2. Could this error lead to issues that may not be immediately obvious?
