I'm repairing an Orchid Voodoo 2 with 8 mb. Had a lot of missing components which I added back.
All 3 main chips are reflown, pins connected to the pads, checked each adjacent pins for shorts and all is good.
The card is fully initialized, all memory is detected but I have artifacts in games.

If I use SSTV2_NUM_TMUS=1 to effectively shut down TMU 1. The artifacts go away. Which leads me to believe the the 1 or more of the 4 memory chips assigned to TMU 1 is/are bad.
However, with both TMUs active, and underclocking to as low as 60 Hz, doesn't make the artifacts go away. Which makes me believe that the ram chips are good and the problem is somewhere else.
Maybe a broken trace or something.

Any specific place where I should focus my attention when diagnosing this card?

Sorry, I’m a bit confused. You say that lowering the speed doesn’t make the artifacts go away? Or did you mean to say they do go away?

After underclocking, artifacts are still present.

Artifacts go away only when i shut down TMU 1 (regardless if I underclock or not).
