Hello all,
Since the file AUDIGY12.EXE posted on the VOGONS drivers page

Sound Blaster Audigy 2 - 9x DOS Mode Support
https://vogonsdrivers.com/getfile.php?fileid= … 383&menustate=0

by itself was NOT enough to get my retail Audigy 2 ZS to work in pure DOS 7.1 (obviously), I resorted to the DOS drivers and his minimal config file posted by user crvs in the following post:

Re: Installing DOS drivers on an Audigy2 ZS

Now, his contents of the AUDIGY2 folder seems very akin to Phil's Computer Lab for SB Live! and SB PCI 128, and seems that I am in the right track.

I run the _INIT.bat file, and then SBECG.EXE, but my IRQ, port, and DMAs seem out of norm.

QUESTIONS:
1) How can I change my IRQ, Low and Hi DMA in DOS? (under Windows 98SE, I was able to right click on property of the SB16 Emulation entry and and change them to 1 and 5 successfully)

2) Should I move and install the card to a different PCI slot?

3) What is the purpose of AUDIGY12.EXE at all? Do I even need to run it if I am using the aforementioned files by the user crvs?

4) What about SETBLASTER environment setting in DOS? Can you kindly recommend some useful settings for autoexec.bat and config.sys files?

Many thanks in advance!

p.s. I have attached a screen-shot of the 3 DOS Drivers for Audigy 2 ZS, Live! and PCI-128, and they share similar components. (the Audigy 2 ZS folder contains the contents of the user crvs that I am using)

Just use VSBHDASF. Works fine with my 2ZS in Pure DOS. No other drivers needed.

OK, I will give it shot. In the meantime, I was able to do the following:

1) Edit CTSYN.INI and modify the MIDI, Low and HI DMA, and the IRQ to the default values.

2) Edit _INIT.BAT and correct the SETBLASTER values to the desired, default ones: SET BLASTER = A220 I5 D1 H5 P330 T6

3) Luanched DOOM, and it sounds very mediocre with Sound Blaster as music.

4) Luanched DOOM, and it sounds OK (very different) with General MIDI as music. By the way, the CTSYN.INI calls for default.ecw Waveset, which sounds very different from what I remember in the past.
