Hi,
i recently bought PC with Asus TX97-E rev 1.11, and on the board was Pentium MMX200.
I downloaded patched BIOS from retroweb (112), and it says it will support K6-2 CPUs with that patched bios. I have one spare K6-2 350 in my drawer, so i want to "upgrade" this PC a little bit.
Does anybody knows jumper settings for this combination?

Thanks in advance...

There are only jumper settings for CPU <233MHz. As I wrote in my post, i downloaded the patched bios from this same page, i'm sure i would see if there is a jumper settings for K6-2 CPUs ๐Ÿ˜€ That's way i asked here ๐Ÿ˜‰

Ok Thanks, I thought they were present in that manual, but you can't select multi 3.5X and FSB 100, for a 350 you should keep the FSB at 66, and raise the multi to 5X (333 MHz), or use the multi 5.5X (366 MHz), keep in mind that the VCore must be 2.2V.
It would be very simple if your K6 was a CXT, with that you put multi 2X and automatically becomes 6X, but you get 400 MHz, I don't think you would have problems, but personally I recommend the 5X or 5.5X, because at 400 MHz I don't think you would have much better performance.
As for the BIOS, I don't think you'll have any problems, but I think that at most, it doesn't recognize the CPU correctly, this could happen if you use the original version.
Probably, what you need, would be contained in later versions of the manual, or they are secret settings.

The 5X and 5.5X multi, you can get them only with the BF2 jumper closed, for the 5X you should use BF0 and BF1 equal to the 3X, or for the 5.5X you put the BF0 and BF1 jumpers like the 1.5X/3.5X, in both cases the BF2 must be closed.
I think this applies to all motherboards with BF2, if instead you only have BF0 and BF1, then two jumpers for BF (instead of three), you can't select multi higher than 3.5X, only with the K6 CXT you can get the 6X, selecting the jumpers in position 2X.

As i said in first post-patched 112 bios (works ok with MMX200)

Yes this link contains everything you need, but I think you should try your K6 at 233 MHz, if it doesn't do anything, it means that it could be the BIOS that doesn't recognize the K6-2, then you should be sure it works, have you ever tried it on other PCs?

I will find some board where it can be tested, and let You know...

Yes, I also had a non-working K6-2-380, unfortunately sending it back cost more than another CPU, however 500 MHz is a great result, congratulations ๐Ÿพ๐ŸŽ‰๐ŸŽˆ๐ŸŽŠ
If you notice problems with the drives or with other HW, you can also reduce the FSB to 75, because at 83 you should have the PCI at 41.5 MHz, except in the case where there is a standard PCI speed option (33 MHz), in which case I recommend using FSB 83 and PCI 33.

Ok I thought you had one aside, so you should find a second-hand one, maybe try to find one of at least 400 MHz, or 450 MHz, anyway 50 MHz more won't make a big difference, and you would have the PCI at not excessive frequencies.
But if you find a 366 MHz instead, that would be fine too, then of course what would be the best is a K6 with integrated L2 cache, so K6-III and K6+.
