Hello,
First, please excuse my English 😉
I got old DOS program in which there are a lot of important informations for me (it is engineering program, where is described steel structure etc.)
When I first run it, almost nothing happened, it always falls, after unsuccesfull playing with compatibility in windows properities I decidet to try some DOS emulator and downloaded DosBox. After a few minutes playing with it, it runs and seems to be OK... Bud it is a little bit compicated... I'll try to describe it =>
Program si executed by BAT file, in which first line contains "SET CLIPPER=F65;X28" and second line executes exe file. Problem is, that when I want to view some graph, it falls with message:
"VM: Swap space exhausted
Internal error 5318, __RUN (0)"

My operating system is Win XP SP1, computer: P4 3GHz, 512MB RAM.. bud thats not probably important..

I trust, than somebody can help me, thanks

Is there plenty of hard drive space on the drive where the program is located?

Have you tried specifying the -freesize command (with Mount command) to show programs that there is a greater amount of HD space than DosBox shows. (DosBox shows 110m to programs by default).

I doubt his is a problem tho since 110m is more than enough for swap.

Finally have you tried adjusting the amount of memory that DosBox allows. IIRC, it emulates 16meg by default so you may want to try 32 or 64. (The option is in DosBox.conf)

Try running it using VDMSound (I am not joking). Just make sure you set the appropiate FILES=xx statement in the AUTOEXEC section for the VDMSound shortcut.
