Hi,

I hope I'm posting this question in the right place.
I am just getting into Roland Sound Canvas products, and am looking to build a collection of all the demo songs that have shipped with the different Sound Canvas models in their original MIDI format, being either build in or on disk, however I haven't had much luck finding may of them so far.
I've so far managed to locate a set of the first 13 demo files from SC-55 (DEMO0001.MID to DEMO0013.MID), however the fourteenth one is missing, and all the MIDI files have a timestamp from 2015, so I can't be sure if they've been modified or not.
So I guess I'm looking for a complete set of SC-55 demos, as well as demos from SC-55mkII, SC-88, SC-88 Pro and SC-8820/8850, assuming that all those models came with demo songs.
I've tried the Internet Archive, as well as various Google Searches, but without much luck.
Is there a place that has these archived, or would someone here happen to have these lying around?
Thank you very much in advance.

Kind regards:
Aksel

Some people have uploaded ISOs of the old system software CDs that came with various Roland products and they can sometimes be found in those, while others have uploaded the files themselves to various FTP servers. Some Roland products have files stored on their onboard memory and nobody has been able to access those, so far as I know, but I could be wrong about it.

Here is an old thread where somebody uploaded a bunch of the demo songs:
Demo songs for Roland SC-88VL

Thank you for the link. I'll try and contact the user to ask if they have the rest of the demo songs, though the fourteenth demo from SC-55 is still missing. Was it perhaps only shipped with late SC-55 units, running firmware version 2.00 or such?

Thank you, however I've not been able to locate any of those yet. I know that at least the SC-55 had the collection of 13 or 14 demos shipped on a CD or floppy, they were not all build-in I think.

There is an impressive collection at the Chiptune.app site:
https://chiptune.app/browse/

These should be the files from the demo discs:
https://chiptune.app/browse/Demo%20MIDI ... s%20(1991)
https://chiptune.app/browse/Demo%20MIDI ... s%20(1993)
https://chiptune.app/browse/Demo%20MIDI ... s%20(1994)
https://chiptune.app/browse/Demo%20MIDI ... s%20(1996)
https://chiptune.app/browse/Demo%20MIDI ... s%20(1999)
...and others if you up a directory.

I know there are some captures (Youtube, etc) of the built-in demo songs, but I don't know if those have ever been dumped from ROM and turned into a MIDI file.

It is also worth checking out the Roland SMF discs:
https://chiptune.app/browse/Roland%20SMF%20MIDI%20Disks

The rest of the site is worth searching/browsing - lots of other Roland related content.

Hopefully that helps. Unfortunately I cannot authenticate that these are original or complete - all of my Sounds Canvas units (SC-55, SC-88, SC-7) were acquired in the last ~6 years.

I made a related post here: Early Sound Canvas (SC-55, SCC-1) MIDI Demo Songs.

If any of those you are missing and are interested in, I can try to put them available.

Thank you very much, that seems to be exactly what I'm looking for. I'll investigate later.
