Mediocre 3DMark2000 Results on Celeron 700mhz + Radeon 7000

As stated in the title, I keep getting rather poor results in 3DMark2000 on a Compaq Deskpro EX I found and upgraded.

Compaq Deskpro EX
Compaq GARCIA i815 OEM board
128mb SDRAM, (64mb PC125?? + 64mb PC100 according to CPU-Z)
Celeron 700mhz, 66mhz FSB s370
Radeon 7000 64mb DDR AGP
Integrated SoundMAX AC97
RTL8139 NIC
80gb IDE HDD

I also tested the integrated i815 graphics and a GF2 MX400 64mb

Software:

Windows 98 SE German, 4.10.2222 A
NUSB v3.7 German
Intel 6.3.0.1007 chipset drivers
RTL8139 NIC drivers
SoundMAX WDM drivers

ATi Catalyst 6.2 for the R7000
Nvidia 45.23 for the GF2 MX400
Intel 4.13.01.3196 driver for i815G graphics

Win2k SP4 also installed in a dual boot, but similar bench results.

I should be easily scoring 2000+, I got roughly 2200 points testing the card on a 2.8ghz P4, anyone have a clue what could be going on?

I can't tell you exactly what's going on, but there are a couple of really weird things that went on the the Radeon line at the turn of the century:
1. They released a 7000 series card with HyperZ disabled in D3D games (might be able to check on this by looking at OpenGL games instead of D3D benchmarks like 3DMark).
2. They released a 7000 series card that was missing a rendering pipeline compared to the original Radeon DDR/7500

Maybe someone who knows more than me can tell you how to check on those things.

The one radeon 7000 I own is a dog turd so this looks normal to me.

Radeon 7000 = RV100 = all bad: only 1 pixel pipe, none vertex, none hw T&L, 64bit memory, disabled HyperZ (luckilly only sw, so registry hack possible) = no miracles at all.
