Dear fellow vogons,

If you are having problems to get the USB function of a SiS chipset to work in Windows 95 OSR2.5, look no further, here comes help. After I'd almost given up on this I eventually managed to find an INF update that does the trick. Dang, I knew it had to work somehow πŸ˜‰ First of all of course you need to have (x)USB supplement installed. Then use the archive that goes by the name of tx-win95 and run the INF.EXE file. There will be further instructions displayed afterwards, but long story short you have to delete the unknown device in the device manager and simply reboot. Aftwerwards it will detect the USB controller and root hub. By the way during the process it might ask for the OPENHCI.SYS, you may then point to WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS\ folder, where this file should already reside amongst others. Obviously the updater has been published by Tyan originally and for me it also adviced to remove all IDE controller devices which I simply did not do, as they work flawlessly.

Download can be found here:

So there you have it, I hope somebody migth find some relief with it like I did πŸ˜‰
