Has anyone had a go at building one of these?

I just ordered some PCBs and I am wondering if the RAM ICs on these old 72pin SIMMS would be compatible?

They are 32MB EDO RAM and there are 16 ICs per stick (8 on the front and 8 on the back). So to my mind that means they are 2MB per IC which should be correct for building the Minuet board.

If you're planning to cannibalize 72 pin simms, why not just get something like the simmconn adapter: https://www.serdashop.com/SIMMCONN

Then you can just use 72 pin simms directly.

I don't like the bulky footprint and the price of the simmconn...

5 PCBs for Minuet - £4 delivered
BOM for assembly - probably less than £2 per card
