Howdy!
Recently I have become an owner of computer from 90s on (mostly) retail parts! 😁
Motherboard is Gigabyte GA-686LX4 rev 2.0
CPU is Intel Celeron 300A

I already OC'ed Bus to 100MHz and CPU to 450MHz.

Motherboard user manual in 4th page lists some benchmark results

The attachment image.png is no longer available

It's not same specification as mine but I think it still would be nice to see how much points I will get 😁

Issue is I run Windows Me on this machine. I do it and I want to do it because I have already enough NT and 95/98 machines and laptops in my room, while I never experienced Me beside once installing it in VM.
While installing Winstone/Winbench I either get bluescreen with VxD or program crashes with illegal exception. Any idea what could be the reason? Is there any workaround?

never try Me. Its fucking dogshit.

No wonder its unstable if you run an LX motherboard at 100MHz FSB.
Anything past 66MHz is overclocked, and LX was never considered great overclockers AFAIK
Frankly I'm amazed it even posts.

I've been running Winbench 97 and Winstone 97 on Winme no problem for years. Interestingly I get arond 2-3% increased score with Winme compared to Win98se with exact same hardware (P200, 64MB RAM)
WinMe is just Win98 third edition.

Amateur overclockers moments.

Recommend gaming motherboard to be a pro.
