So, I finally received a full Forte VFX-1 package. I already had 2 headsets and a cyberpuck, but this latest acquisition is the full boxed set.

I need to put together a system to use/demo it and I immediately thought of portable. I have a few of the lunchbox style PCs that I could kit up with a compatible system. But I also have a few Fieldworks rugged laptops. So my thought is to build one of each, beginning with the fieldworks set up. Mine is a FW7666P Pentium 166 with 128MB of RAM. One main challenge is going to be figuring out a way to retain the LCD and still use the VFX-1 ISA card. I will first check if the built in graphics happens to have a VESA feature connector. But I will probably have to add in a video card instead.

The fielwdworks laptops have 3 full ISA slots and 3 PCI slots.

For the lunchbox PCs, I will possibly have less of an issue because the original video cards did have the VESA feature connector. The motherboard will need to be replaced as mine are 286 and 386 systems.
