i have a serius problem, i finally succeded installing the sb16 drivers for dos and windows (i have an ac97 onboard) but i have a prob in win31w. It plays wave files but broken. i tried changing dma,irqs (both in dfend and system.ini) etc but nothing!

does anyone had the same prob to help me? 😒

dosbox doesn't emulate an ac97 ?

broken i mean it crashes like playing a scratched cd. . . dosbox emulates ac97 but windows 3.1 needs drivers to support sound.

No it doesn't emulate an ac97.

The emulated soundcard is a standard SB 220/7/1

Well, as he said, he tried to install the sb16 drivers.

If your sound is scratchy, try lowering cycles or switching to dynamic core. The usual "performance tweaking" tips apply - look at the FAQ.
