I've just installed and configured Stonekeep through DOSBox and everything seems to be fine getting it ready. When I try to play the game, I get the message "You must run Stonekeep from a CD."

I also tried installing the patch but running that batch file gives me the same message.

All I see in my DOSBox window is the message:
"Write 0 to rom at c536" (multiple lines down just different number at end.

I installed the game to C:\DosGames\Intrplay\Stonkeep
I used the commands in DosBox:
mount c c:\dosgames
mount e e:\

So I'm launching the game from within DosBox C:\Intrplay\Stonkeep\ as sk.bat and I get that message.

Any help you can give me or more information I can provide?

Hmm. Stonekeep is a popular game today. 😀

Is e: your cd drive?
Try mount e e:\ -t cdrom -usecd 0 -ioctl

The -t cdrom just tells dosbox to treat it as a cd drive. The other options are just some advanced stuff it might need.

Also, maybe you need to run an exe/bat on the CD instead of in the install directory? A few games are weird like that.

Anyway, if that doesn't help, check the forums. It looks like Stonekeep has been discussed loads of times. 😀

Please, try to keep as little threads as possible focused on a single game. There are too many Stonekeep threads already. Also, remember to SEARCH the forum prior to posting.
