I'm running DosBox 0.63-1 on a 1.6GHz PowerMac G5 under the latest update for Tiger, and I'm having a lot of trouble trying to get Ultima 8 to run.

When you first load it, everything seems awesome. The music plays, the intro plays perfectly, and it brings you into the "State your name" page just fine. But when I input my name and hit enter, things start to go awry.

My Ultima cursor appears as normal. The music plays as normal, like it's supposed to during actual gameplay. However, the rest of the screen remains BLACK. It baffles me. I've tried checking up on the read/write rights for files, I've even tried putting various other names in the "State your name" page, but for the life of me I can't get the video to show when the actual GAME starts. The problem is always the same.

I even tried loading Ultima Underworld just to see if it was a universal problem--it wasn't. Underworld loaded just fine.

Help? I've been wanting to replay this game for YEARS. 🙁
