Check to see if files have read-only attribute set.

No, files are not read only.
When i look at the files i have, i see no file like xx.cfg or something, so there must be a missing file. Creating one could solve my problems maybe...
Latest dosbox cvs on windows xp sp3
Maybe some directory is missing.
Hi-Octane, like a few other annoying games, stores it's config in C:\ (in a folder "HIOCTANE.CD"), so make sure you have something mounted as drive C:
(It does this because it was designed to be run from CD, so it would need somewhere else to store saves and config)
I'm not familiar with this game, but I don't see the game EXE either. Maybe it's in EXEC or DATA?
Stupid me 😊
I forgot to mount a cd drive (while knowing that cd games save things on it).
I created the HIOCTANE.CD folder, and the game created save datas in it.
Still, it doesnt save selected screen resolution (640x480)...
Thanks a lot for the help 😀
p.s. the bat file is the shortcut to launch the game, .exe is in "exec" folder.

I hope you mean READING DATA FROM CD. Writing to WORM media is just IMPOSSIBLE.
