Dosbox version is 6.5, downloaded directly from the DosBox site, no CVS version selected. File name ouwnloaded is DOSBox0.65-win32-installer.exe.
I can install windows 3.1, and run it in VGA mode. But I need higher color mode. The 16 bit VGA driver is the only built in Windows driver I have been able to get to work, the others result in video corruption.
At the advice of this thread, I installed the S3 864 version 1.41B5 video driver. All went well untill I tried to get back into Windows. Depending on the settings I use and the command line switches, I may be greeted by one of a few different messages. The comand win without any switches, or with the /b switch greets me with "To run Windows in Standard mode, please run Setup program, change display to VGA and proceed. The high resolution/color modes will only operate in Windows enhanced mode."
If I use win /3 to force enhanced mode, I get the following message:
ERROR: Unsupported expanded-memory driveralready installed. Remove driver from config.sys.
I have fiddled with all the DosBox settings in more ways that I cna keep count of.
Anyway to fix/get around this problem without creating a disk image and installing DOS?
