I just got DosBox for my iBook, which has the latest version of MacOS X. I'm currently having alot of speed issues with some games. Some games run perfectly. I tried the keyboard tips (CTRL+F12) and nothing happens. When I go back to the windowed mode, the number is the same. I try editing the preference file, and it's still the same. What can I do to get a decent framerate on some games.
try some other key together with the crtl-f12 key
i think there is some sort of other key you need to press as well.

When I press the CTRL key, nothing happens, at least to DosBox. For example, pressing the F1 keey on my laptop, decreases contrast. When I press Ctrl+F1, it just changes the contrast, and nothing happens in the program. Basically, I can't use the CTRL commands. Alt+Enter works though.
Okay I figured it out! I need to hold down FN+CTRL+ALT and than a F# key.
Even though I got the keys to work, it's still jerky. I'm trying to play Blake Stone, a 3D shooter, and it's fairly jerky. Also, Jazz Jackrabbit is slow.
I assume from your initial post that you are using a PowerPC based mac, and sadly it's not so lightning fast for dosbox.
I'm using a PPC powerbook 1,67Ghz with 1gb ram, and my experience is that it is a bit faster if you compile it yourself (with flags optimized to your system) but not by much.
