I decided to install MoM again after sometime vaguely remembering what a pain it was to get it to work. At the moment i can get it to run but the minute i click with my mouse it drops back to a black screen in doxbox with "Insufficient Memory. You need at least 581k free. Try removing all TSR's" as the error. Any ideas?

Well now there's a new problem.. the game is running very very slow. I've already typed in core=dynamic and cycles=max. Any ideas?

Use cycles=auto.
Of course it will be slow if your processor is too slow as well.
Maybe increase frameskip, too.
