hey folks,
i really kinda freaked out when DosBox .65 finally supported Archimedean Dynasty (v1.20). Actually, i just bought it (new, for 1 EUR =) just to see all the vids i missed 10 years ago.
But it's almost unplayable. Can't get over some 10fps in combat, even with all ingame-options set to lowest cpu-usage. tried Gulikoza's CVS as well, but no noticable effect.
I've to admit that i'm not a Dosbox-Expert.
So, has anybody of you some advice how to set up D-Fend properly to get the max out of my Athlon 2700 / Win2k system?

Guess you already tried core=dynamic along with cycles=auto?
If yes and it's still slow wait for the next dosbox release.

okay, set core=dynamic, and actually it improved speed, but just a very little bit. are there other settings which tend to be useful?

anybody here playing a.d.? at which fps?

As said wait for the next version, should be faster then.
Moe might have some fps comparison.

Well, the latest CVS version in combination with a well-optimized configuration file should be barely sufficient for play at medium quality settings (maximum screen size, no gouraud shading/perspective correction/transparency effects). Read the README and the guides forum for tips on how to optimize. You will definitely have to invest an hour or two in optimizing the configuration file.
