When I try and start Fallout I get a message saying "this is a Windows NT windowed executable" So how do I get that to run?
With Krondor after I start the game the command screen goes black and nothing happens.
I'm using dosbox version 0.65

Well of course I tried that. With Fallout The screen goes black every few seconds. I can put the whole sceen back to normal by going to the preferences menu but it goes black again right away.
With Krondor I get an error message saying that an installable Virtual Device driver failed DLll initialization.
Try running Fallout in 256 colors.
Not sure what your problem with Krondor is.
256 colors didn't work. I've also tried different compatibility modes.
With Krondor I got it to stop giving me the error message. But now when it starts the screen goes black for a second then it closes back to my desktop.
Are you are playing the the games in DOSBox or in the NTVDM?
There are two versions of Fallout -- one for DOS and one for Windows. IIRC, most releases had them on the same disk (checked my copy, it has both). Maybe you tried to run wrong executable under DOSBox. You have to run installer under DOSBox as well, Windows installer may skip DOS section completely.
Are you talking about Betrayal at Krondor or Return to Krondor? If it is the former, it should run perfectly under DOSBox if installed properly; if it is the latter, unless you really must to play that one, I'd advise playing something else... In any case, it's Windows only, and it had compatibility issues even when released. Trivia: CGW review of Return to Krondor was named "Return to vendor."
Unlike BaK, Feist had nothing to do with Return to Krondor.
Well forget about Krondor I just deleted it and re downloaded it again and it works.
As for Fallout I searched the disk but couldn't find anything that worked.
I did find 2 folders called DOS one doesn't do anything and the other takes me to a screen that asks me if I want to register my copy but after that it just closes to my desktop.
