Please dont get angry if I say something stupid, or miss out vital information... I don't know a lot about computers in general! I did look at the list of information to supply before asking for help but to be honest I don't even know what they all mean 😖

I am trying to play Diggers (by Millennium SOftware) from a cd rip version i downloaded from the-underdogs. I am playing it on dosbox 0.65 on my compaq presario laptop. it has 124mb of ram and runs on windows ME.

The game seems to run ok until I try and trade the gems I have collected. SOMEtimes (but not always) the game crashes. I get a black screen telling me "fatal error: unable to load file GFX\TRADING.BIN". This doesnt always happen however. There does not seem to be a pattern to when it decides to crash. I have tried re-downloading this file separately but it makes no difference. Otherwise I am at a loss as to what I should try.

please help! I haven't played this game for years and would love to get it working properly.

Could be a bad rip, so try to get the original on ebay or something.
Abandonware is not supported on this board.

As general measures try different settings in dosbox.conf, for example
disable ems/xms, set core=dynamic or something. Also maybe try it
on a different PC.
