Hi everyone ! Nice to meet all of you here in best DOS emulator software forum !
I'm an environmental scientist and i'm running several old air quality models such as MESOPAC II, MESOPUFF II ... in DOS mode right now, and they take me at least 3 hours - 6 hours to compute for a 12-month data series with D-Fend setting to highest CPU and RAM consume (unfortunately i have to run models many times to optain optimal results). So I have a question that is there any front end for dosbox software faster than D-fend ?
Thanks for your attention
Regards

My Computer spec:
Intel Pentium D 2.8GHz, Dual DDR2 512 MB Kingston, 160 GB SATAII Seagate, Gigabyte ATI RADEON X550 PCI-E 256 MB, PSU 500W.

The front end does not affect the speed of the program running in DOSBox.

What CPU-core are you using?
How many cycles are you using?

I'm using Intel Pentium D820 2.8 GHz, CPU cycles 20000 and using Full Mode in D-Fend.

Oh and just in case: get dosbox 0.65, won't work otherwise.

Just so you know, DOSBox does not run out of a frontend. It only gives an easy way to configure DOSBox to run your game. Even if you launch the game from the frontend, it doesn't have anything to do with it after DOSBox starts. Some of the frontends allow you to create a Windows shortcut to launch your game. In this case the frontend doesn't even have to be running to start the game. Think of a frontend as mostly a GUI for editing the dosbox.conf file, although some of them can also be a catalog or database for your games.
