I try to get a Neobook for DOS application running under DosBox 0.65 (not Neobook for DOS itself, but a compiled EXE from Neobook).

Actually, it works very well. The only thing that doesn´t work are longer sounds. I´m not sure, but i think, Neobook extracts these sound files out of the EXE overhead and plays them via a special application called SPLAY.EXE which is placed in the same directory as the Neobook-EXE. You can see Neobook handing over the sound file for a short time in the header of the DosBox windows (chaning the name of the EXE file into SPLAY.EXE).

These actions do not work. It just doesn´t play anything. SPLAY.EXE quits and nothing has happened. I don´t know what´s the exact problem. Short sequences of about 10 secs are played within the EXE and play correctly. So i don´t know if its a problem with the external extraction (couldn´t see any temp files extracted while these actions take place) of the sound file, with SPLAY.EXE incompatibilities itself or if SPLAY.EXE just doesn´t recognize the sound adapter (tried different already, though).

DosBox hasn´t shown any errors in the log window as well.

Anyone an idea? Any Neobook geek in this forum?

Tried low cycle counts and core=normal?

Thanks a lot, reducing the cycles to 3000 and turning the core to "full" did the trick.

Unfortunantly, the application is quite slow now, but at least it works.

The next dosbox version should improve the sb detection a bit.
