hello to you all

i am really new to all this and dropped on an old classic game i like which is fade to black... which doesnt work as it requires dos ?? well i have downloaded dosbox followed instructions and i still cant get the game to play

the game is located in ,my cdrom drive, i have mounted the drive using the command as shown on the help page

mount d d:\ -t cdrom which worked fine i then prompted d: install which initialised the installation screen for the game i selected english of corse and then it takes me to the minimal / medium / maximum install which you select for better gameplay etc.. i have tried all three but when i have selected the next screen is where i want to install to which automatically has c:F2b i then click ok this does not work not enough memory ??? i am now really stuck as i say i am really new to this the memory of my pc is fine why wont it let me just install and run the game where can i go from here .....

It sounds like you mounted your virtual cdrom but not your virtual hard drive.

You need to specify a "C:" drive in DosBox so that your game can install.

Ex: "Mount c c:\DOSGAMES"

Assuming that you have a "DOSGAMES" directory off of your C:\.

Create a folder named OLDGAMES on your C drive from Windows Explorer.

After that, start up DOSBox.

Z:\>mount c c:\oldgames

Z:\>mount d d:\ -t cdrom {assuming second d letter is your real cd letter. If not, replace it}

Z:\>d:

D:\>install.exe (or setup.exe or install.bat or whatever. Issue a dir command to find out.)

{when prompted for installation destination, choose drive C. Installation will probably create a folder F2B in it}

{After installation is finished. It will probably redirect you to...}

C:\F2B\>

If not...

D:\>c:

C:\>cd f2b

C:\F2B\>f2b

That's it.
