I'm a relative newbie with dosbox (awesome program, runs Wizardry like a charm 😀), but I recently came across a strange error. I'm trying to run the dos version of the freeware game Diver Down on DosBox .72 for Mac OS X on my MacBook:
Model Identifier: MacBook2,1
Processor Name: Intel Core 2 Duo
Processor Speed: 2 GHz
Number Of Processors: 1
Total Number Of Cores: 2
L2 Cache (per processor): 4 MB
Memory: 1 GB
Bus Speed: 667 MHz
Boot ROM Version: MB21.00A5.B06
SMC Version: 1.17f0
Anyway, when I try to run Diver Down I get this strange error message:
Load error: no DPMI - Get csdpmi*b.zip.
Thank you in advance for your help,
Andrew

Just use D.O.G. if you're totally lost.

D.O.G. comes with CWSDPMI included. The site from witch you can download it is in the About freeware dialog.

Just activate "Use CWSDPMI" to make D.O.G. run CWSDPMI before running the game. See screenie.

You can find it here : http://clio.rice.edu/cwsdpmi/

Edit : Sorry just finished reading the post, you're using a MAC.

Erik.

Get the HXDPMI runtime from here:
http://www.japheth.de/HX.html#hxdl

Put the HDPMI32.EXE file in the folder with the game.

Run HDPMI32.EXE -m

Run DIVER.EXE

I still get occasional crashes when going in or out of encounters, but it runs. Save early and often.

The easiest solution is to get CWSDPMI from the link that ErikGG gave, and unzip it into the folder of the game that wants it. The game will automatically use it.

The game should have came with it, unless it was expecting you to run it from inside of a Win9x command prompt.

Edit: Found the official site for that game out of curiosity: http://www.grenideer.com/diverdown/index.htm
