I am trying to install the latest version of dosbox on A windows Vista laptop (2Ghz Core 2, 2gb ram...) however when I try to run the install file I get the following message:

16 bit MS-DOS Subsystem
installer path
The NTVDM CPU has encountered an illegal instruction.
CS:1195 IP:02bd OP:63 6f 6e 74 65 Choose 'Close' to terminate the application.

Clicking close does the obvious or clicking ignore causes the same message to appear several times before being replaced by a command prompt window with the cursor blinking in random places.

Any help would be appreciated 😀
