turbo mode question

Is it possible to run dosbox permanently in turbo mode ... e.g. as if I had my fingers on Alt-F12 all the time? I already have cycles=auto but the game I am playing runs faster when alt-F12 is pressed (and as it is a text adventure I would really like it to run as quickly as possible all the time).

Any ideas?

No one is forcing you to use cycles=auto. Set it to some fixed value, like 20000, and see if that works better.

hmm. I tried auto because I thought it would be fastest - i'll try a few variations of cycles=xthousand.
