Sorry if I'm reposting, or if I'm asking in the wrong area, but my ability to search this forum has turned up nothing...so if there is a post that could help me and someone could point me in the right direction.

Heres my problem. If i mount C:\ as C, and change directory to the game directory and run as normal, everything runs ok. If I try and create a subdirectory, (Ex. C:\DOSGAMES) and attempt to mount that as C, when i run the game.bat file, i encounter the message

"Illegal Command: C:\SYSTEM~2\cdrom\game.exe"

Am I missing something? do i need to mount a CD drive? if i keep the game directory in C:\gamedir, and mount C:\ as C, if i cd to gamedir and run game.bat, i have no issue. Please advise.

You shouldn't mount C: as c. It sound like there are config files that were created with C: as c. With C:\DOSGAMES as c, the config files no longer point to the right place. Mount C:\DOSGAMES as c and then install the games inside of DOSBox. This will create config files that will point to game resources where DOSBox will see them.
