I wanted to know what driver dosbox.72 uses to control the mouse?

I noticed when I run a application deskmate 2 under dosbox0.72 from prompt I can use my mouse fine.

But I can't run similar program deskmate 3 from dosbox prompt, so I have to boot to dos 6.00 and it runs deskmate 3 fine, but I lost my mouse support.

I noticed if I boot into dos 6.00 and run deskmate 2 the mouse is also gone.

So I figure the mouse driver from dosbox would work well under dos 6.00 to run both versions of deskmate with mouse support.

Thank you,

If you boot MS-DOS in DosBox then you need to load a mouse drive. Use Cutemouse.

If you experience mouse issues in a game or program in DosBox then report those issues here. Also try cutemouse.

Also verify that your program doesn't use it's own mouse drive in it's configuration program.

dosbox uses it own mousedriver. It has no name and can't be found elsewhere.
It might need some improvement to work with that one application,.

Thanks for the feedback so quickly,
I have used cutemouse, mouse32, and mouse dos drivers and some others while running dos 6.0.

When I run cutemouse, the mouse arrow does appear on the screen, but when I click on it, no movement.

Well to be more specific, the problem lies with Tandy Deskmate 3. I was reading some post where member RX9 have gotten Deskmate 3 to boot with other versions of dos he used dos 6.00, and using the video config utility on the tandy disk to set it to vga or tandy video it boots. When trying to boot Deskmate 3 in dosbox v.0.72, it starts to boot then goes right back to c prompt with no error reported.

I am also going to look into deskmate using its own mouse driver in configuration.

thanks for the help, I going to keep working on it.

The emulated mouse driver (int33 interface) is ms-mouse compatible,
also there's the ps2 bios interface.
For cutemouse and stuff you'd have to disable some parts of the mouse
driver like the int10 handler overwriting the int33 (or irq12, don't remember).
